Directions

Stain removing: Wet the spot lightly with water. Dampen the stick and use it to rub against the stain. Wait for a few minutes before washing off. Repeat as necessary. For more stubborn stains*, add a dash of baking soda and leave overnight before washing off.

*This is effective against blood stains even when used on its own. A few rounds of lathering will do the trick! 

For hand washing laundry: Soak your laundry in liquid and use the bar to lather and gently scrub off dirt and daily grime. Rinse with fresh water. 

Tradition of Marseille Soaps

For more than a thousand years, the French city of Marseille has been producing natural Olive Oil soap, known as Savon de Marseille. This was due to an abundance of olive oil, coconut oil and salt sourced from the Camargue region as well as the French colonies - which make up the ingredients of this gentle soap.

By French law, a genuine Marseille soap must contain 72% Olive Oil with no animal or fragrance additives. It is widely used in French households to clean anything from laundry to kitchen surfaces.
